
World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game released in 2004 by Blizzard Entertainment. At its peak in 2010, its subscriber base reached 12 million players.
The game’s eighth expansion, Shadowlands, launched on November 23, 2020 and sold over 3.7 million units globally on release day, making it the “fastest-selling PC game of all time”, according to publisher Activision Blizzard.
